Inspired by the quiet presence of blue whales beneath the surface, this original watercolor painting combines fluid washes, layered textures, and bold color to create an image that is both recognizable and unexpected.

This painting is the second version of the blue whale. the first was a small sketchbook page. I have plans to turn it into a large oil painting, and continue with a series of aquatic life.
